Monica Britton earned her Bachelor of Arts degree  from the University at Albany. Soon after graduating from college, she began a  15+ year career in the entertainment industry where she was able to polish her  management, team building and out-of-the box marketing. 

Although her career in the music industry was a successful one, Monica felt her  calling was to give more in a professional service capacity. In 2006, she left the  entertainment industry for her dream position at a prestigious non-profit entity in  New York. Through her long-standing commitment to serve, Monica has  volunteered her time as an American Sign Language Interpreter, youth group  advisor and grief support group leader.

In 2017, after much prayer, preparation and contemplation, Monica officially  launched Black Girl of Campus (BGOC) where she works in small groups with  young black girls grades 9-12 who will be first-generation college students  navigate the path to & succeed in college. In 2019 she formed Lift As You Climb  (LAYC) to support African-American millennial women in creating 360 happiness  professionally, personally and spiritually upon graduating college. In 2021  Monica’s podcast “On Campus with Monica Britton-West” was born and allows  her to share insights on what it takes to get into college, what happens while  you’re in college and what to do upon graduating college. 

A bonus mom to an amazingly awesome son, Monica lives in New York City and  is married to the love of her life, Sean. 

Lauren R. Jackson, M.P.A., Esq., is an award-winning social entrepreneur, attorney and speaker driven by the principles of sisterhood, faith and the elevation of women and girls of color.

In her role as Founder and Chief Visionary Officer of Instilling My Ability to Naturally Embrace Excellence, Inc. (IMANEE), she has developed a platform dedicated to the development of the world’s next generation of leaders, social justice advocates and community change agents. Additionally, she uplifts women through her creation of the Shero Brunch, an event that cultivates an afternoon of fellowship and connection among women. Her work with IMANEE has allowed her to travel throughout the country serving as a guest speaker and workshop leader presenting on topics such a leadership development, activating your faith, self awareness, school-to-prison pipeline and business creation. She has served as a speaker for the Seeds of Fortune Leadership Academy, the Young Enterprising Sisters Conference, Educating Children of Color Summit at Colorado College, The Black Girl Project Summit, the Speak Life Vision Board Paint Party and the Jewel Ministry at St. Paul Community Baptist Church. Lauren has been featured in Queen + Queen Magazine, XONecole.com, The Felicia Brown Podcast, MyFaithHeels.com and the We Are Still Becoming Podcast. In 2016, she was selected as a Changemaker to attend the first ever United State of Women Summit in Washington, D.C. 

Lauren’s legal career has allowed her to serve in various roles with organizations such as the Human Rights Council of New York City, the New York State Department of Human and Civil Rights, the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, and the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law. Additionally, she served as a judicial intern for the District Court of the District of Columbia, working alongside Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson and as a law clerk for Judge Magali M. Francois of the New Jersey Superior Court in Bergen County. Lauren’s dedication to civil rights allowed her to present oral argument before the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, with Supreme Court nominee and Chief Judge Merrick Garland presiding. Currently, Lauren works as an Associate with a firm Newark, N.J. and is the managing member of The L. Renee Group, LLC, a business/legal consulting agency. 

Lauren holds a Juris Doctor from Howard University School of Law (JD ‘17), a Master’s degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from Seton Hall University (MPA ‘11, BA ‘09). She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and Epsilon Sigma Iota Legal Sorority, Inc.
